10 Little Known Facts

Posted on September 15th, 2008 by Jean

I was tagged by the lovely & talented Deanna Banana to list Ten Little Known Facts about myself. Let’s get started.

1. I don’t shave my thighs. Ankles to my knees, the hair will occasionally be shaved. I don’t know what age I hit when I decided I no longer needed to shave my thighs, but I obviously hit it.

Celine Dion doesn’t shave her thighs either.

2. Tom calls me Indoor Mom, because I’m not very outdoorsy. I call him Outdoor Dad.

…would be a shitty job.

3. I’m in charge of feeding our cats.

Our cat, George, is 18 years old.

4. If I had a dime for every time Tom said he wanted to shave George, I’d have an extra $36.50 annually.

I have 20 cents from the times we have actually shaved the cat.

5. I once yelled *F_CK YOU!* repeatedly from the balcony as our guests drove off into the sunset.

They were out of earshot, but I waved & smiled just in case.

6. I used to have a cooking website.

7. I have never picked my own vehicle.

Still had to make the car payments though.

8. When I was little, I loved Irish Setters! I’d see one and say,
There’s my dog!

Who’s that crazy lady? Do I know her?

9. I’ve really only owned 1 dog. A chihuahua!

Far cry from an Irish Setter.

10. Right now, I’m craving powdered sugar thanks to Foodie1!

I’m not tagging anyone, but please let me know if you tag yourself!

Bedroom Make-Over Update

We Have Leaves!!!

What am I screaming about?

Well, about a month ago, I begged and pleaded for ideas to make over our bedroom. I was going to thank everyone individually, but there were so many of you that had awesome ideas and encouraged me to believe in myself! Thank you all!

Here is the *Before* picture:

I’m not done redecorating yet, but so far I’ve covered the quilt with a red duvet, bought spare pillows for the decorative shams, replaced the curtains with colorblock panels, painted the closet wall a darker color, and replaced the nightstand with a plant.

Detailing the leaves gave us a bit of trouble! My attempt was too thick.

Tom’s attempt was better, but shaky.

With Tom’s direction, I painted wispy veins. The leaves really came to life when our employee, Brenda, swooshed on low-lights with a complimentary shade of brown!

I was so excited when we finished today, I couldn’t wait to show you!

Thanks again for all of your help!

Thanks for reading!

My Dream

Dream A Little (odd) Dream

Yesterday Tom and I were talking about dreams. You see, I rarely remember mine. The kids usually jar me awake, leaving no time to marinate in my dream juices. (Dream juices?! That doesn’t sound right! But the kids are arguing over whose towel is who’s, and I can’t think. Is that the proper use of the words who’s/whose?)

Where was I? Oh! Last night I remembered my dream!

The Dream

I’m watching Johnny Depp perform. He’s in a large room, perhaps a cafeteria, and there are many people sitting in metal folding chairs. He finishes his scene and glances over at me. I give him the thumbs up, which makes him laugh, and he returns the thumbs up to me. I made Johnny Depp laugh! Next time I’m giving him the OK sign!

Johnny has a parachute/kite contraption with fishing line hanging off of it in a big loop. I don’t see how it will support me, but I slip the loop over my head and arms. Next thing I know, I am soaring around the room above everyone’s heads. Wee! Look at me! Everyone is smiling and laughing! But then, I begin to descend. I float softly towards the floor, and begin crawling between the metal chairs. People aren’t so amused now! They look distressed as I crawl too near their tote bags and such.

Next scene, I approach a 1 room house. It has stairs and a porch. There doesn’t appear to be any doors; just a large opening leading into the room. One of Tom’s friends sees me and says he’s glad I’m here. I can help work on his floor. All around the room, people are sawing wood and hammering it into place. The wood is going every which way, but surprisingly looks good! I don’t get to help before waking up.

So…what does it mean?

Dream interpretations gladly accepted!
