We have a big event coming up, and I’m renting the runway. Rent The Runway is a site that loans designer dresses & accessories for 1/10th the retail price. You can get a 2nd rental dress for a flat rate of $25.00.
My first choice is this emerald green Halston gown. My second option is this Nicole Miller red gown and jewels by Kate Spade. I’m beyond excited to wear either of these gowns.
The event is the 2013 Community Achievement Awards. My husband is a finalist for the Tourism Award. I’m so proud of my hubby, and cannot wait to attend this gala by his side on October 5th.

I rarely go to events that require dresses like this anymore but this seems cool for when you do need it.

Hi Krysten – I saw a bridal rental gown company on Shark Tank once. Not sure how well they are doing.

What a great idea. Who ever really wears a cocktail gown again? No one. That’s who!
They both are gorgeous dresses and either would look fabulous on you, but I think the emerald green one would look stunning on you.

Thanks,Sherri! I got confirmation from Rent The Runway yesterday that the gowns had shipped. It put a little pit in my stomach, not sure why. Maybe the anticipation of the big night. I have my fingers crossed that the green dress fits (the red dress is one size larger).

The dresses arrived today, and OMgosh I’m in love! The green dress fits. That was my #1 choice. Oh joy!

Cannot wait to take pics, Angelia! The dresses & necklaces arrived today, and I’m thrilled to report the green dress fits! Tom said I look stunning. And that was with no make-up and out of the shower hair. 🙂
