2014 Resolution Tag

Posted on January 3rd, 2014 by Jean

My friend, Elle, at Elle Sees posted a 2014 Resolution Tag. I thought it would be fun to play along. Feel free to tag yourself as well.

BAD HABIT: There is no bad habit I am going to break. I will continue to eat at McDonald’s, choose work over cleaning my house, and make snarky comments about …. Wait! I DID give up a bad habit! Facebook stalking! Yes, I had an addiction to viewing a friend’s feed. Her life read like a train wreck, and I couldn’t look away. So I deleted and blocked her. Sorry, “mom-of-angry-kid”.

NEW SKILL: I’d like to learn how to cook a few more good meals. I will be a skilled recipe hunter, gathering ingredients and whipping them up in my kitchen.

Pinterest mozzarella sticks

EMULATE: I hope to be more like Lisa Vanderpump, and I have the new pink bra to prove it! She’s a beautiful, successful woman, wife and mother who exudes class.

GOOD DEED: I will plan many picnics to feed our new neighbor’s children. They aren’t allowed in our home, but they do pick oranges off our tree to snack on.

VACATION: Knott’s Berry Farm is our vacation destination in 2014.

LITERATURE: I’ll be reading an historical romance novel called, “Southern Wind”! The sweet, little, local author phoned me last year to create her book cover and website.

LETTER: I write a damn good letter, and cc a whole bunch of people. Heads roll when I put paper to pen. Pen to paper. So, I don’t know what letter I will be writing, or what the results will be, but I will keep you posted.

Angry Letter

NEW FOOD: I’ve always wanted to try those lettuce filled, no,… meat filled lettuce cups. Meat and veggie lettuce wraps like you get at the Cheesecake Factory. I shall google the recipe and whip that up.

IMPROVE: I’m going to do better at… blogging? Am I? I will try!

What are your 2014 Resolutions?

  1. Ah, a couple of resolutions I can relate to. I really need to try some new recipes as well. Knott’s Berry Farm sounds fun but I doubt it could beat Disney. And if I had Lisa Vanderpump’s money….??? πŸ™‚

  2. I don’t think Knott’s will beat Disney either, but hubby & the kiddos have never been.
Oh yes, Lisa’s money would be amazing to have and to spend!

  3. “The sweet, little, local author phoned me last year to create her book cover and website.”

Jean, that is AWESOME! I love your book cover creation! And I had no idea you also designed websites. Talented lady you are!

Enjoyed reading your list of resolutions – especially LETTER. OMG, I can’t even remember the last time I took pen to paper and wrote a letter. And my penmanship has suffered because of it. I’ve been online for so long, typing emails, that I have forgotten what it feels like to actually WRITE. Sometimes when I write a check, I have to write another one because my handwriting is atrocious.

I don’t really make New Year’s resolutions myself. I just try to stay open to a new year; allowing my intuition to guide me through the changes that the year brings to me.

Happy New Year, Jean! Looking forward to blogging with you this year. Have a super weekend!

  4. Thank you, Ron! The author had a vision, and I just helped it come to life. I’ve been helping local businesses and organizations with their websites for a few years, and find it very rewarding (and sometimes challenging).
I’m encouraging my daughters to write too. They did really well with their birthday and Christmas thank you cards. I don’t want writing to be a thing of the past.
Happy New Year, Ron! I know good things are always ahead for you. You are a ray of light!

  5. Hahaha… “mom-of-angry-kid.” I’ve “hid” so many people from my newsfeed on FB it isn’t funny!!

  6. I can relate, Amanda! πŸ˜€

  7. These sound like a good bunch of resolutions. I may have to “borrow” the prompt myself for a blog post of my own!

  8. Sounds good to me, Mark. I’ll be by to see how you do. πŸ™‚

  9. I love your choice of good deed! I bet those kids will love that picnic!

  10. I think so too! When I see how hungry they are, it saddens me.

  11. Those were the most interesting resolutions I’ve seen in a long time. I’ve taken to reading aloud some of the more wacky FB postings on my feed to my kids (all over 18). We bond over the ridiculousness!

  12. I love it, Bijoux! My hubby couldn’t believe I was deleting “angry mom”, but at least he is still friends with her. LOL!

  13. Happy New Year Jean. Thanks for stopping in. I have been out of town and have had health issues I am dealing with for some family mewmbers. I know that 2014 will be a great year for you. You are great at getting done what you want to get done. πŸ™‚ Best regards to your family. Keep blogging. Lots of fun to visit you. I may get back to blogging one day. lol πŸ™‚

  14. Happy New Year, Luisa. I will continue to pray for your family, and hope that 2014 brings health and happiness.

  15. the pink bra part cracked me up! so tickled you did this!

  16. Thank YOU for inspiring me, Elle!

  17. I like how you broke your resolutions down into these categories! Nice to have a targeted approach for each area!

    Cheers,
    Danielle πŸ™‚

  18. Thank you, Danielle! I’ll have to see if I’m accomplished any of these yet.
