Travel The World From The Comfort Of Home
Posted on January 29th, 2014 by JeanLast week I was working very hard, and wanted to take a brief mental break throughout the day and night. I remembered someone saying, “Check out Mapcrunch. I’m so glad I did! Mapcrunch posts random street views anywhere in the world. Bonus: You can navigate them!
My first stop, a Japanese cemetery.

Then on to Cape Town, South Africa.

Mapcrunch even brings you inside places such as Saint Audoen’s Church in Dublin, Ireland.

What I like best about Mapcrunch is it’s ability to take me places I never knew existed.
So I highly recommend you try Mapcrunch to unwind and travel from your armchair.
Mapcrunch has another site called Instant Street View, perfect for visiting a specific destination! The kids and I have toured ….
Hint! Drop onto a blue dot to tour that area!

Instant Street View Map – Drag Little Person To Blue Dot To Visit Area
And even our own town!
I’ve started a Pinterest Board for our Mapquest and Instant Street View destinations, but we need your help! We’re running out of ideas!
• Where should the kids and I visit?
• Where will you visit?
Go, explore, enjoy, and share!

That’s really cool! I’m going to try some towns where my ancestors came from and check it out later today.
I think Canyonlands National Park is the most scenic place on Earth and difficult to travel to some of the locations in the park, so that would be a good one, too.

Okay Jean, this is like the COOLEST thing! How FUN!
I went to the site and typed in the hotel I lived in while staying in Japan (Kobe Portopia Hotel, in Kobe) for 2 1/2 months and found it! I actually found the street I used to walk down on my way to work each day. How neat it was to see that area again. I LOVE Japan!
I think Italy would be a very cool place to visit. And one of these days, I’m going to get there. But in the meantime, I’m going to check it out on this site.
Thanks for sharing!!!!!

Enjoy virtual Italy and start making your plans to get there. Fun!

Great idea for a site! Best of all, you don’t have to figure out any tricky currency exchange rates. I think I’ll take a trip to Vienna today, just because.

Vienna… I almost gave up, but then saw the blue dot. I’ve landed in a gorgeous location, Babenbergerstraße. I need to learn more about that. http://www.instantstreetview.com/2m3eavz3ptueqz5iuzr2z2u Thanks, Mark!

I didn’t know this site existed. It looks great especially for me since one of the things I always liked about online gaming was going places and seeing things. Seeing real things in the world is even better. Thank you!

OMG, that is THE COOLEST! I have never heard of this site before, and I will be visiting for sure. Also, I’m almost certain I visited that church while in Dublin. SO NEAT!
Hmm… if you have the chance, check out Heidelberg, Germany. I guess I’m a bit biased since I did a semester abroad there, but holy hell, is it ever beautiful.
Also, I’m going to be armchair traveling today. NJ is getting upwards of 14 inches of snow starting tonight. WAH!!!
