My SITS Day

Not only is today Valentine’s Day, it is my SITS Day. Welcome friends and SITStahs!

SITS stands for The Secret is in the Sauce, a blogging community 8,000+ members strong, lead by Tiffany, Francesca, and Kathy B.

I don’t know how the ladies juggle all that they do, but they manage to lead bloggy boot camps, feature a daily blogger, give helpful advice, organize & lead tribes, and have just started a book club. Are you as exhausted as I am? Be sure to check them out.

Today I’m getting a heart-shaped box of chocolates. My little birdies did not spill the beans, but my big bird did when he asked if the girls had told me. I’m not sure what brand he bought, but as long as they aren’t Russell Stover, all is good.

Along with Russell Stover’s chocolates, here are some other gifts I do not want:

I Don't Want These Gifts Lindsay Lohan’s White Dress
The now infamous white dress in which Lindsey strolled to court. Hubby has said I wouldn’t have to wear it long, …or outside.

An Arizona Jean Jacket
This was another brilliant idea from hubby. Yes, I get it. I live in AZ and I’m Jean, but really, it’s not my style.

A Vermont Teddy Bear and Pajamagram’s “Marshmallow-Soft” Hoodie Footie
I’m a woman, not a toddler. I don’t want a dust-collecting bear or pjs with feet.

Invariably, someone will come along spouting the benefits of gift a, b or c. “I’m from Vermont, and we are very proud of our bears. Valentine’s Day wouldn’t be the same without this wonderful gift, you heartless tramp.” JHBS bear Next thing you know, I’m back peddling and hosting a Vermont Teddy Bear give-away. Happy SITS Day & Valentine’s Day. I think you summed up what I do not want for Vday. I always thought the footed PJ thing was weird, especailly if my husband were to give it to me.

OMgosh! I am stunned, overwhelmed, & floored by all of the SITS Day comment love! Holy smokes!

Let’s see… Ok, I shall break it down into sets of 10.
1. Kriste – My 1st comment! Thank you! Yes, I think we’re with the majority who do not want footed pjs.
2. SuperMom Blues – Thank you! You do want the footed pjs? Ok, Kriste, scratch what I said earlier. LOL! SMB, photoshop is so much fun. I have a tutorial on photo imposing. Will try to email you the link if you’re interested.
3. Kimberly – I have the need for speed too, getting out of sleeping contraptions and rushing to the bathroom. Zippers would only get in the way.
4. Ott, A – Shopping! ::: fist bump ::: Yes, yes, yes, I’ll swing by for a latte and tales of shopping adventures!
5. Kimberly – Carnations are an excellent addition to the list of gifts we don’t want!
6. Caren with a C – that Marital Bliss chocolate bar sounds adorable! I’d actually want 90% for myself. 🙂

Amen on not needing the dust collecting poly-filled bear. My dog would just rip it to shreds anyway.

And footie pj’s? How on Earth can people get out of them fast enough when they have to pee? That’s why I think they should only be worn by those in diapers. I may want some when I’m 92, but not until then.

Happy SITS Day! I have not had mine, I’m a newbie to blogging. My husband got me a bar of chocolate that was called ‘Marital Bliss’, it showed a bar graph with about 75% of it covered, but labeled 50% Her’s, and the other 25% of it was labeled 50% His. I thought that was kind of cute.

Man, so demanding !! hahaha
It shouldn’t be about the gifts right !! though I reckon the teddy at the bottom, would be liked by me daughter !!
I don’t think there is a gift I wouldn’t want…maybe not chocolate, as i’m losing weight …
I’m not tight with money, but there are a few supermarkets with cracking offers on flowers, I wouldn’t steep as low as getting them from a garage though !!

HAPPY SITS and Valentine’s Day!!!

My husband, as he says, has been lucky enough to be away on Valentine’s Day for basic training, courses, and tour. So we don’t celebrate February 14th.
But last year I got some flowers from my mother in law! FUN!
It was a nice thought, but I knew it was her when she called fishing for info.

Congrats on your SITS day. 🙂

I think there isn’t a present in the world I wouldn’t cherish if it was given in the spirit of love and affection. I’ve had a lot of duds over the years, but I’ve never felt that the person in question didn’t at least THINK it was a good idea. 😉

That said, I’m pretty sure that my mom had the worst luck. My dad got her a pocket knife for their first Valentine’s Day. Because she didn’t react well, he’s stuck with flowers every year since.

Ha ha ha … WELL!! I got those exact footie pj’s for Christmas … & they are monogrammed!! What in the world was he thinking! Just tried them on for the first time a couple of days ago and felt like a kangaroo. I was super cold and they did warm me up but so much so that I had to change. I have often wondered who in the world actually wears those footed pajamas! Oh – so sorry Shileen. I love your whimsical humor and am so glad to have found you through SITS. I think the one thing I truly hope does not show up this Valentine’s Day is a new mop. I made the mistake one year of complaining about our toilet seat close to our anniversay and guess what I got? Well, yesterday I wasn’t thinking and complained about our lack of a mop(really tired of the whole swiffer thing). We’ll see how tonight goes!

I have to admit that I throw stuffed animals away yearly. I have three boys who have no idea what their intended purpose is…Having said that I have a teddy bear on a shelf that they are not allowed to touch! She’s MINE!

Happy SITS Day – and Happy Valentine’s Day.

I’m with you on the footie jammies – although, its SO darn cold and drafty in this house (we didn’t take the electric blanket off last summer) it would be tempting -did I not have to take it off to wee in said cold house.

I also do not want chocolates. I am on Weight Watchers and I am a stress eater – and life is crazy mad right now, so please don’t plunk a box of choccys in front of me.

Now jewelry? That’s one-size-fits-all!

Oh! And what I DO want for Vday is a fruit. Kind of silly but my husband bought a pineapple for me on our first Valentines. Since then it has kind of become a tradition that he buys me an unusual fruit and brings it home from work. Its kind of funny to me but I always like to try and guess what it is going to be this year- haha!

Hiya! I’m a newb to the SITS site… congrats on your day!
I am one of the odd ones out that would take any of the above gifts with a smile, if I had a boyfriend/husband who gave them to me.
If I were given one of the above, I’d laugh and try to figure out what his reasoning behind them were.
The only gift that I absolutely would not want to receive is anything involving bananas. But that’s only because it would probably kill me 🙂

It’s V-day and our anniversary is in two days, but it’s our 27th, so my expectations aren’t too high. I got some hints that I am getting flowers and I think he’s taking me to dinner, so that’s a home run in our book. Me, I surprised him with breakfast and something for lunch at work this morning and I ordered him a book on tape. What can I say, hopeless romantics, we’re not!

happy SITS day sweet bella, I haven’t had my SITS day yet, and I wouldn’t want a stuffed animal, I am much more into doing something together, that means the most to me. My husband and I made dinner together while we shared a bottle of Argentinian Malbec, it was lovely! We made croque madame and a pear, gorgonzola and walnut salad, it all came out so wonderfully – we happened to be nursing two sick children, my 2 1/2 year old has strep and my soon to be one year old a bad cold, so it was low key for us, but still a great evening! hope you have a wonderful day!

Wow, I am soo lgad I am not the only one who thinks the Teddy/Jamma gram is the stupidest thing. I mean, not if I was a 5 year old girl, but I’m not. Hubby got me a box of chocolates and a card. Yeah, it’s simple and unoriginal, but I liked it : ) I didn’t have to deal with a card as tall as me or a giant red gorilla who weighs as much as I do, holding a heart and singing Jungle Love. lol But seriously, a simple I Love You would’ve been fine by me, and maybe a balloon : )
