Easter Cartoon

Posted on April 12th, 2010 by Jean

Belated Happy Easter to you! Did you have a nice holiday? We did. My parents came to visit. The last time they were here was five years ago when our youngest daughter was born. We had a fabulous three days, and it was great to see our children bond with their grandparents and vice versa.

My parents are very private people. Tom, not realizing this, did snap a few photos while Dad grimaced and Mom growled. Wanting to keep the peace yet share our adventures, I created this cartoon. I hope you enjoy it!

Gratuitous Bathing Suit Blog

Posted on April 20th, 2008 by Jean

It’s my deadline at work, and my working weekend.

I took a break from it all on Saturday though since my sister and her husband came to town.

While the guys golfed, Sunny and I took the kids to her hotel pool.

Normally they would have stayed with us, but we’ve had the kooties lately.

I snapped this really cute picture of my sister.

I think she should use it as her avatar (hint, hint).

Natalie played in the waterfall.

Both girls swam.

I dunno, I think they had a good time. LOL!

After swimming, Pearl wanted to be wrapped up like a burrito.

Look how our chairs & tables were in the water. Too cool!

Note to self: Next time I play ringtoss with Natalie, remember to put sunscreen on her armpits!

Yes, these bathing suit shots are my penance for posting pics of my friends and family in their bathing suits last week.

::: grumble, grumble :::

Waitress! One more round of strawberry daiquiris, please! Unleaded for the kiddies.

And now, I must get back to work. Playtime’s over!

Fresh Beach

Posted on April 15th, 2008 by Jean

The opposite of Burro Poop Beach would have to be Fresh Beach.

I love these satellite images from google maps!

Before making our way to the fresher beach on Day 3, Tom had to do a bit of work. Part of Tom’s job is to take photos of houses for our clients’ ads in our real estate magazine. That morning, we had gotten a call about a riverfront house for sale. So our first stop after launching was down river a bit.

Isn’t that pretty? I’m sure it has a pretty price tag too!

Once we arrived at the beach, the kids built more sandcastles.

Tom even got into it. He likes to build the moats.

Here Joy puts sunscreen on Cimber’s back. Kind of looks like he’s doing a dance, huh?

After a few hours, we ran out of liquid beverages, so we scooted down river to Lazy Harry’s for lunch.

I put a couple of photos together so you can see our view.

Lunch was delicious!

After lunch, we made it back to our house, quickly showered & dressed just minutes before our babysitter arrived. We took our guests to the comedy show at The River Palms Casino in Laughlin.

It was a good deal, $14.95 per person. The comedians were pretty good. Not rip-roaring funny.

That concludes Day 3.
