Bad Pedi

Thursday, Tom and I got pedicures. He had a lovely female nail technician, while I had a young man they summoned from the back room. He had really long bangs, like this.

Ya, that’s him! Go ahead and picture him giving me a pedicure.

He really did a fine job, until the end. That’s when they add cute flowers & rhinestones. His design stunk. One flower plus a big chunky, silver swoosh. I didn’t say anything, but I painted over it when I got home.

That’s not the actual chunky, silvery swoosh. I attempted to recreate it.

Do I talk about my feet too much?

Did You Just Insult Me?

So I’ve been dealing with a salesman from Canada. Let’s picture him as that cute guy that sings in the credit report commercials. He’s from Canada.

I signed a contract for the creation of our virtual magazine, and was trying to get it designed, up and running by June 1st. Time was running out, and I was starting to panic. The salesman, Grant, wanted to light a fire under the Production team, so he asked me to write him a nasty email. Get really angry at me, he told me.

So I fired off an angry email, and then fired off a 2nd one for good measure (after a glass of wine). The next morning, our website was complete! Grant phoned me and asked, Is that as angry as you get? Yes, that’s it. I wish you were my mother.

Aw, damn, I’ve graduated to the Mommy category.

Beauty

This morning I received an email from the beauty site, Sephora. They enticed me to visit their site with a pink button that said, Shop now, gorgeous! They know how to talk to me, unlike Canadian Grant.

I clicked, and was a bit surprised at one of the products they were recommending for me.

I mean, sure, I’ve put on a few pounds. Well, ok, I’ll try it. Wait! Do I eat it or rub it on??? Oh, and what exactly does it do?

Here’s another product they wanted to sell me.

Look, bub, if I had an extra set of hands… (do I really need to complete that sentence?)

I hope you’re all enjoying your weekend!

Bathing Beauties and Bacon

WATER BABIES

I have water babies. My two girls heart LOVE heart water!

Yes, they’re cute & cuddly. Fondness for water is all good when it’s outside in the jacuzzi. But there is a menacing side.

It’s early morning. Everyone’s been fed. Spongebob is on the t.v. All seems normal. My mission: to take a shower…. alone!

It just isn’t humanly possible! The 2 little water nymphs have a 6th sense! They MUST join me in the shower. It is their goal in life.

They sneak in and soak up all the lovely shower spray, while I stand in the corner, surrounded in steam.

This phenomenon has been going on for at least two years. Here is a picture Natalie drew in 2006.

Don’t let her fool you. We do not have dual showerheads. Look how sad I am. Don’t look at my black nipples.

So I was searching google for some interesting shower images, and look what I found.

A Psycho Shower Curtain. How weird is that? Imagine taking a shower and seeing that silhouette.

Want to see another strange shower curtain I found?

That’s right. A raw steak shower curtain. Who is this for? Butchers?

While purusing the meaty website, I found these other clever items!

Bacon Band-Aids!

A Bacon Wallet!

Come on! Do these not scream out HAPPY FATHER’S DAY?If you must shop for meat-inspired products, here is the BaconAndMeat.com website! Have fun! And let us know what you bought!

School Recital

Posted on May 22nd, 2008 by Jean

About 2 months ago, we enrolled Natalie and Pearl in Montessori. It’s a private school with a great reputation in our community. The kids have enjoyed it immensely, and have learned a lot even in these few weeks. We survived a few bugs and got through our first ear infection.

Well, Wednesday was their last day of school. In the evening, we attended their very first school recital!

They joined their class onstage to sing Itsy Bitsy Spider (in English and in Spanish), Baby Bumble Bee, and a Duck song. We were in 7th heaven!

Proud Dad

Here are the girls after the recital. I love how proud Tom looks!

Bumble Bees

Here are my smiling bumble bees!

Here are a couple of pics from Tom’s camera.

I’m there, in the background. I’d post another pic, but I looked like psycho-mom! I must have been excited or nervous for the kids.
