Gummy Bear Chandelier

Strange Things

While searching for accessories for my bedroom, I’ve come across some of the strangest items. I just have to share these with you!

Gummy Bear Chandelier

If this was in my house, I’d constantly be trying to eat it!

The gummy bear series (and more) can be viewed at YaYaChou.com.

Spa Planetarium

Homestar Spa Planetarium by Sega Toys has 3 modes: stars, rose petals, and deep sea.

Those don’t look like rose petals to me.

Champagne Cork Stool

NapaStyle sells these bright orange champagne corks and wire cages. I actually ended up buying a set for our bar. The kids fight over who’s going to use it.

DILEMMA

I have a dilemma. It never reached 120 degrees here! I know. That stuns me too! So, please take the time to answer the survey below so I can figure out what to do with the 120 Degree Game. Thanks in advance!

INPUT NEEDED: What Should I Do With The Prize From The 120 Degree Game?
• Hold our answers over to 2009.
• Give the prize to the person who chose the hottest day (118).
• Put our names in a hat and draw a winner!
• Make up a new game!
• None of the above.

Blogging Notes 9

Posted on August 10th, 2008 by Jean

Last night, Tom and I attended a fundraiser dinner/auction. Part of the auction was live, and the other was silent. With a silent auction, you put your name and the amount you’re willing to pay on a sheet that is in front of the item. I had bid on a wine rack complete with 1 bottle of white wine plus a prime rib dinner for two at a nearby restaurant. Tom bid on a red-headed duck.

We got a couple of beers, then sat down at our table. A sweet little old lady came up to us and asked how we were doing. I had seen her picture before, but had never met her. (She has advertised in our magazine.) She said she likes to outbid friends for fun. We got a good laugh over that, and then she went on her way. Well, do you know that she outbid not only Tom on the duck, but me on the wine rack combo? So I upped our silent anty, and outbid HER on a couple of items she wanted. ::: snicker, snicker, snicker :::

That little trick taught me a lesson! I almost got stuck with a pot that I didn’t want! Thankfully, at the last minute, 3 ladies walked up and outbid a lot of people. They saved my hiney!

Look what finally arrived! The pantry door!

Yeah! Yippee! Yeah! Yippee!

Bedroom Progress: The new curtain panels haven’t arrived, but we took down the old curtains. Cracks in the wall have been patched, and a fresh coat of cream paint applied to 2 of the walls.

I ordered the bedspread! Thank you to all those who suggested red, to Taina for recommending Bed Bath & Beyond!, and to Sandi for suggesting a duvet!

Now I’m off to watch the Olympics.

12 Steps, Princess

Posted on August 6th, 2008 by Jean

My own darling daughter, who is refusing to pose for photographs today, was VERY kind to me on Sunday! To my utter surprise, she drew me a bubble bath! No, I’m not talking about sketching, although she did that too. She ran the water in her tub, and invited me to hop in. Ahhh, the water was so hot! I brought a magazine, thinking I could soak for a bit, but she had other plans for me. It was soon after I was trapped in that tub that she revealed her 12 Steps To Becoming A Princess.

It’s kind of hard to decipher. Let me see if I can remember how to crack the code.

Step 8: I Have No Idea.

Her sketch looks like a ladybug taking a shit, but I know she didn’t ask me to poop.

Ok, I just consulted with the artist, and she said Step 8 is Put Your Hair Up.

That’s better!

How does a 5 year old know about a 12-Step program?
