Podcast U

Posted on May 2nd, 2010 by Jean

I did it! I started an iTunes podcast. It was easier than I anticipated, and some helpful links are posted below.

I’ve only subscribed to one other podcast in my life and that was CNN Robin Meade‘s. She airs behind the scenes antics & interviews. Being a podcast newbie, I don’t know what is normal or expected, so will just put my spin on it.

REALITY with Jean Has Been Shopping, so far, revolves around my family. If anyone else would like me to stalk them with my Flip video camera, I’d be more than happy.

I really want my husband to take his Flip to his favorite hangout bar because some of the stories he tells are so juicy! In the meantime, here is Episode 1 / Pool • Time.

I cannot recommend iMovie enough! This week I learned how to create a freeze frame (control + enter). Reminds me of those 80’s shows that always ended on a cheesy still.

Doraz ~ Thank you so much! No cameras in your house? What about your get-away lodge? 🙂

Joy ~ Thanks! It’s kind of intimidating, but I’m forging ahead.

  3. Wow, you’re a techno wizard. I’ve never tried to make a video but would like to. I have no idea how to edit it though. Wouldn’t know where to start.

I guess now you’ll be totally comfortable when Dr. Phil’s team comes out and sets up their cameras in your house. Cool!

  4. Good luck to you in your endeavor. It sounds exciting! Where do you find the time?

I haven’t subscribed to any podcasts and I doubt I’d let any cameras into my home. Though…there was a guy on The Early Show and his segment was called “Everyone Has a Story”. He’d randomly pick a city then randomly pick a name out of the phone book, then go to their house and interview them and tell their story…I’d do that.

  6. Hi Kristin – Thanks! iMovie makes it easy to edit video. Really, just drag and drop…. video, images, text. I’m not sure about PC software, but I’d bet there are some excellent choices out there. Ya, Dr. Phil needs to come examine my head! ROFL!

Tammy – Thank you! Hmmm… I just make the time because creativity reduces my stress levels. YOU are extremely creative & talented. “Everyone has a story” sounds wonderful!

Hi Jingle. Thank you for the awards and greetings. Yes, now that Easter and Spring Break are behind me, I have more time for posting.

  8. Jean,
You’re always one step ahead girl. I had to google what a podcast was. I’m not really ready for that yet.
I love your first podcast. Your editing skillz are da bomb! And your family are all naturals behind the camera. I’m thinking your hubby should definitely take you up on the idea of his flip video camera at the bar. Oh that would be great! Scandalous fo’ sho’.

  9. You are so good! You keep doing amazing things and making them seem simple. Which I know they’re not! Thanks for sharing and for all your tips. I can’t wait to try one of these in the future!

  10. Sherri – Sorry for the delay in replying.
I’m still not sure what is expected of a podcast, but I’m muddling through it. I hope to gain direction if not experience as I go along. I still want hubby to take the camera to the bar! He has taken it horseback riding and fishing, so that’s a start.

Sunny – thank you! You know I have a passion for creativity. I’m glad to offer helpful tips too. Love you!
